Teknolojinin hızlı gelişimi, enerji tüketiminin ivme kazanmasıyla sonuçlanırken, doğanın gereksinimlerini göz ardı eden kontrolsüz büyüme, ciddi sorunları da beraberinde getirmiştir. Günümüzde insanlığı tehdit eden bu sorunlar, dünün doğaya saygı göstermeyen üretim ve tüketim anlayışından doğmuştur. Hızla artan dünya nüfusu ve şehirleşmenin enerji ihtiyacı ile maliyetlerini de artırması, su dahil tüm doğal kaynaklarda azalmaya sebep olması ülkelerin çevreci teknolojiler konusunda yapılan çalışmalara daha fazla önem ve destek vermesine neden olmuştur. Enerji, su, hammadde tüketimi ve atık üretimi için teknolojik yenilikler içeren, sanayide uygulanabilir ve ekonomik değeri olan temiz üretim teknolojiler çevreci teknolojiler olarak tanımlanabilir.

Sürdürülebilir tekstil üretimi son yıllarda oldukça kulağımıza çalınmaya başlayan bir ifade. Artan çevre bilinci, azalan ham madde kaynakları nedeniyle üreticiler tekstilde sürdürülebilir üretim yolları bulmaya çalışıyor. Bu bağlamda geri dönüşüm, teknolojik makineler ile  kaynak israfını minimum düzeye indirme çabaları kendini göstermeye başladı. Tekstil ürünlerinin doğal lifler ve maddelerle üretilmesi, kullanım ömrünün daha uzun olması ve geri dönüşümünün sağlanabilmesi sürdürülebilirlik açısından önemlidir. Doğanın yükünü azaltmak için üretim ve tüketim sonrası oluşan tekstil atıklarının da geri dönüşümlerinin yapılması önemlidir. Bu bağlamda tüketicilerde gerekli bilinçlenmeler oluşturularak satın alma alışkanlıklarındaki değişikliklerle ekolojik ürünleri talep etmeleri sağlanabilir. Ülkemizde de son zamanlarda yaygınlaşmaya başlayan basit çözümlerle, doğayı tonlarca tekstil atığından kurtarma imkânımız vardır.

Environmental technologies

While the rapid development of technology results in the acceleration of energy consumption, the uncontrolled growth that ignores the requirements of nature has also brought serious problems. These problems that threaten humanity nowadays have arisen from yesterday’s understanding of production and consumption that did not respect nature. That the world population that increases rapidly and that urbanization increased energy needs and its costs, and that they caused the all natural resources including water to be decreased have caused countries to give more importance and support to the studies on environmental technologies. Clean production technologies, which include technological innovations for energy, water, raw material consumption and waste production, are applicable in the industry and have economic value, can be defined as environmental technologies.

Sustainable textile production is an expression that has started to come to our ears in recent years. The manufacturers have been trying to find sustainable production ways in textiles because of the increasing environmental awareness and decreasing raw material resources. In this context, efforts to minimize the waste of resources with recycling and technological machines started to show themselves. That textile products are produced with natural fibers and substances, their lifetime is longer and recycling is provided are important according to the sustainability. In order to reduce the burden of nature, it is important to recycle textile wastes generated after production and consumption. In this context, the consumers can be provided to demand ecological products with changes in their purchasing habits by making awareness in them. We have the opportunity to save nature from tons of textile waste with simple solutions that have recently become widespread in our country.
